A nice change

* * * * * by Michael • 18th November 2016

“I hadn't tried white tea before, so I thought I'd give it a go and I liked it. For me, it's a tea that I'll probably have once a week, just to have something different. It's a slightly lighter taste than green tea, but definitely not devoid of flavour.”

The best I've found.

* * * * * by Olivia Bohannon • 5th December 2015

“I'm completely mad on tea. Especially the more traditional stuff. I've tried so many teas and different brands, a lot of which have tasted dry and bitter.
I first got this tea in a supermarket in tea temple form and loved how the leaves swelled in the temple, filling it up. It's a gorgeously smooth tea, nothing like the naff stuff I've found from Clipper and other brands. I've bought the tea loose this time around (because it's slightly less wastage) and despite how pricey it is, it's really worth it for me.
I like to enjoy this tea in the mornings on days I'm not having my TeaPigs matcha. When it runs out I'll be trying out the "small batch" white tea. :)”

Great Tea

“I discovered the tea pigs white tea recently after switching to green tea a year ago....this has been a really great find.

I drink this with a slice of lemon and some wedges of fresh ginger. You get three really nice brews from one tea bag with no discernable reduction in taste....highly recommended!!”

Delicious

“For me, this is somewhere in between the mao feng green tea and the jasmine pearls tea. It's very light, refreshing and even if I leave the tea bag in there it does not go bitter. It is not cheap, I do appreciate the quality and taste however!”

“I was given a pick n mix box as a present and this was one of the teas inside. It was by far my favorite, beautifully light and refreshing a lovely tea to sit and enjoy at the end of a busy day. I have since purchased the larger pack and will definitely be back for more.”

Can't go a day without it

“At the first sip I wasn't sure but as the cup went down my liking went up. I now have a cup every morning and feel refreshed afterwards. I also read online it helps with weight loss, impurities, skin issues so not only does it taste yummy it can make you look and feel better as well.”

vivid dreams

“Started having this before bed (trying to stop snacking).
Wasn't sure if you took it with milk but I chose not too, it's got an almost creamy texture to it.
Had to cut back having it before sleeping as it really affected my dreams, think inception!!”

Absolutely wonderful

* * * * * by Bruni de la Motte • 6th January 2013

“Ever since I tasted this wonderful tea a few weeks ago I have changed my breakfast beverage. I drink it every day and love it. One temple makes a small pot of tea in the morning and I use the same temple to make another cup at lunchtime. So amazing good value!”

Light and delicate

the difference is clear

“I have been mainly a heavy coffee drinker for many years and I've never really cared much for tea.
I decided to give white tea a try from a review I had seen stateing the health benifits.
I was dubias when I saw the price of white tea but decided to purchase a box anyway; best decision I have made in a long wile. I was surprised to be amazed by the taste, the "pure" description is the only way I think you can describe it.
It is one of the few products I've ever tasted wher you can actuly taste the quality, I look forward to placing my first order online after my first box is done”

THE best tea i've had.

“Some of the reviews i've read here are embarrassing to say the least. This tea is amazing. The purest and most refreshing i've had-and i've had a fair few! Comparing other white teas and green teas to this is akin to comparing tap water with filtered water. I highly recommend.”

Beautiful tea

“I love this tea, it has such a delicate flavour and is not at all bitter like other white/green teas, even if you over brew it. I can get 2 mugs of tea out of this so is good value.”

Oh Wow, what a find

* * * * * by • 8th December 2009

“I love this tea. I found it at our local farm shop (Osney Lodge Farm), and decided to give it a go. Expensive for tea bags, but worth every penny. Light and delicate, nice and clean. The wife saw this and got me a whole load of different templates to try for my Birthday! Second Brew actually tastes better than the first, so the bags keep on going.

Try it, you will not believe the difference from other white teas!”

A Convert Writes

“I've been a breakfast tea/ PG Tips man all my life but found this site and in addition to my usual tried a couple of samplers.

This stuff is brilliant, I can't really describe it other than to say its far lighter and more refreshing than a green tea, but with a far more complex flavour.

Oddly I find myself craving this instead of my usual coffee, which I'd slug several shots of a day from a nice Nespresso machine. Great stuff and given me the urge to try a few others, the popcorn one is quite nice too.

Give it a go.”

So light and quaffable!

“Love white tea anyway, but this version lived up to expectations which is excellent! Lovely and light, perfect anytime cuppa!”

Refreshing - the best white tea I've tasted!

* * * * * by • 8th December 2009

“I had never come across Teapigs until yesterday, when we stopped in Dunster and had tea in a nice and friendly tea shop.

I drink white tea every day, so tried this one - it was delightfully different from what, previously, I had thought to be tea at its best. It was refreshing, soothing and had so much more flavour than the powder I'd used before!

Needless to say, I bought some - and made a note of the website! Unfortunately, I have some boxes of another maker's tea to use up - but then intend to stick with teapig tea!”

Great Tea

It is like milky tea without the milk. is lovely and refreshing cuppa.”

Love this tea!

* * * * * by Paula Coelho • 7th April 2017

“I've always been a green tea person, but this has converted me to white!!
I wish the website and tea box indicated levels of caffeine (for example tazo teas have a 1 to 5 scale, which is really helpful), but thats just a brand thing, the teas themselves are awesome!”

Organic Silver Tips White Tea

* * * * - by • 23rd January 2009

“Pardon the pun but this was not my cup of tea. I can imagine others might like it though! I'd still drink it occasionally as I understand white tea is very good for you. I appreciated that this tea was organic.”

Interesting, but not for me so much..

* * * * - by • 10th February 2009

“I have enjoyed many of Teapigs' products so I was interested to try out this white tea.

The tea itself was a little less 'white' than I expected. Ok, so blue tea doesn't come out blue either, which is a good thing!

I found the taste to be a little 'twiggy' for me, a little like a Japanese kukicha. It was no surprise to see a big twig piece in one of the bags. I wish it was a little more delicate and light, saying that the taste of the water really comes out with this tea so good water is a must!

The leaves themselves are a mix of green and darker brown leaves. Again, I was hoping for less of the brown stuff as I feel I'm paying a premium for this tea (even though it doesn't cost much more than other Teapig brands).

I am, however, enjoying my journey through the tea world that has been opened up by this company and their products.

I'm awarding this tea a 4, I was tempted to give it a 3 but I consider my tastes to be rather unrefined so perhaps I'm ill qualified to truly judge this tea.”

a breath of fresh air...

“This tea is lovely, mild and cleansing, just what you need after a heavy night out. Not at all bitter like green tea, very subtle fresh aroma. I like it alot!”

Give the Mona Lisa a monocle!

* * * * - by • 23rd May 2011

“I know the recommendation is to have it pure, and to have it otherwise would be akin to drawing glasses on the Mona Lisa, but I find that completely pure, it doesn't taste of anything! It's just like drinking hot water! But with a single spoon of sugar, it makes the taste much more pleasant. Oddly, it even tastes as though it has milk when it doesn't!
It also makes a lovely honey colour in the pot!”

a little bitter for my taste

* * * - - by • 7th May 2009

“I prefer this tea on the second pour, the initial pot I always find to be a touch sharp for my taste. Not unpleasant but I suppose it may grow on me.”

Not that special

* * - - - by • 28th November 2010

“Having managed to appreciate green tea after several months, I was pursuaded to try the 'exclusive' Silver Tips White Tea, which was said to be lighter and more aromatic.

It's rotten.

Smells like mouldy weeds when brewing, has a yellow-green colour (which the box specifically stated it should not have), and tastes both bland and bitter. I noticed that when I left it to cool for a few minutes it became slightly more bearable, but the smell is repugnant. Pity.”

Hmmm...

* - - - - by Jo Smith • 1st January 2013

“Sorry, but this really isn't to my liking. It looked lovely, very like chamomile once brewed, but it's too much of an acquired taste for me”

:(

* - - - - by • 18th November 2008

“I really really wanted to like this tea a lot - the previous reviews were wonderful, and the calming nature I thought it might impart to me was something I was looking forward to, but unfortunately we are not the best of friends. It smells faintly of old grass clippings to my unrefined nose, and doesn't taste much better to my chilli loving tongue. Very unhappy with myself that I don't like it and feel sorry for the tea temples as they are very pretty.”

poor quality

* - - - - by lucy • 8th September 2015

“I usually drink loose leaf white tea and have found one of excellent quality on Amazon, I bought the Tea Pigs white tea thinking it would be useful for taking on trips away from home when loose leaf can be a pain and white tea not always available - I was also keen to see how it compared to the loose leaf, I was disappointed, it tastes similar to green tea, very astringent and nothing special about it at all, maybe I've just been really lucky with the loose leaf version I've found which is from Sri Lanka”

Expensive price for broken temples

* - - - - by Sultanie • 18th November 2014

“The tea tastes really nice and this is why I ordered them twice.
At the last delivery, very disappointed to see that some of the temples were broken, so the plastic bag became really messy because of the tea which became loose. In the end, I've paid £5.25 for a very few tea temples - expensive!!!!”
