  Ah Oolong Tee - der stille Held der Teewelt, einer meiner großen Favoriten und ein MUSS für alle selbsternannten Teeliebhaber. Wir dachten es sei das Richtige die Oolongliebe mit euch mithilfe einer anderen, sehr bekannten Form des Milk Oolongs, zu teilen. Jetzt lasse dich nicht vom Namen beirren, dieser traditionelle chinesische (milchfrei!) Tee hat ein natürliches süßes Butterscotch Aroma, das dem Ganzen einen sanften und cremigen Geschmack verleiht - sei mutig und probier’s!

So mögen wir´s



  • 1 Tee Tempel pro Person. Mit 80 Grad heißem Wasser aufgießen und mindestens 3 Minuten ziehen lassen. (Falls du keinen schicken Wasserkocher mit Temperaturanzeige oder ein Thermometer zur Hand hast, schalte den Wasserkocher ab, kurz bevor das Wasser zu kochen beginnt. Das tut es auch!)

“I'm not very familiar with oolong teas, but this one has me completely sold. The taste is lovely and gentle, with the sweet milk tones mostly coming in as a soft touch in the aftertaste and the wonderful lasting butterscotch smell that comes out as soon as you add the hot water (I've gotten into the habit of keeping the used teabag in the empty cup for a bit after finishing just to enjoy the smell that little bit longer). A natural, understated sort of vanilla.

I personally recommend brewing it closer to the three minute mark than the five, but even if you do overbrew slightly this tea doesn't get that tree bark/fish oil taste that many other greener teas can fall into. If Teapigs made this a permanent addition to their roster I'd definitely pick it up again.”

“Really tasty new tea; I've never tried Oolong before so this is very new to me! I was sceptical at first as the tea smells very vanilla-ish and sweet - I thought maybe it was going to taste artificial.

The tea does not taste artificial however, it goes down smoothly and is somewhere in between green and black. It leans more towards green on that scale. The aftertaste is slightly sweet, vanilla-y (hence a bit milky).

Give it a try, especially if you've never tried Oolong before and you like green teas!

(teapigs - if you could bring this back, that would be great! how about loose leaf milk oolong?)”

Flavoured tea

“Only my opinion (obviously) but to me the smell is too sickly sweet. It may be "natural milk flavouring" but I'd like to know exactly what it is. The taste is less overwhelming but I'm really not keen. Oolong is a wonderful tea (and I particularly enjoy the Teapigs tung ting) so doesn't need flavouring. Sadly I missed the fact that there is flavouring added when I ordered.

I'll be sticking with the tung ting!”

“I am an oolong fan and love ting tang oolong, so thought that this was worth a try. I have just my first cup of milk oolong and sadly it will be my last. If you like a flavoured tea (herb or fruit for example) and are not sure about oolong then you may like this. To me it was too sweet and almost soapy and I have thrown it away, and the oolong was totally masked by the strong over powering flavour. I shall stick with pure teas in future.”
